Angiotech developed the technology behind TAXUS®, the world’s best-selling drug-eluting coronary stent. We’ve followed up on that success with: VITAGEL™, a bioresorbable hemostatic material for the prevention of bone bleeding following orthopedic surgery; CoSeal®, a biomaterial surgical sealant; and, CollaGraft® and NeuGraft®, collagen-based bone graft substitutes. Some of our exciting new products in development include: Vascular Wrap™ Paclitaxel-Eluting Mesh, under study for the prevention of restenosis following peripheral graft procedures; Chemo Anti-Infective Catheters, drug-coated central venous catheters designed to reduce infection rates associated with implanting these devices; Adhibit™, a synthetic, self-polymerizing liquid hydrogel for the prevention of surgical adhesions; and Intra-articular Paclitaxel, under investigation for cartilage preservation and for the prevention of arthrofibrosis.
We have broadened our research initiatives over the past few years into new areas spanning from vascular surgery solutions to addressing hospital-borne device infections. Preclinical initiatives include testing a novel stent graft that remains “anchored” in place through biologic means, and testing the use of a composition that will be injected into the joint to both reduce the side effects of joint trauma and improve outcomes in osteoarthritis. Our expansion into these new indications using our proven technology signifies our desire to remain focused on growing operationally by developing our own proprietary combination products and carrying them through, from early-stage development to commercialization.
Whether it’s screening drugs, creating new analytical methods, finding licensing prospects, conceiving novel formulations, or obtaining FDA approvals, there are opportunities at Angiotech to build your career. We are seeing innovative thinkers, who want to be involved in both the business and the science, while contributing ideas that make a difference.
