The corporate headquarters of MPI Research is in Mattawan, part of the life sciences corridor of southwest Michigan. This is also the location of its 400,000-square-foot primary site, which is the largest single-site nonclinical facility in North America.
In addition to its primary site, MPI Research has three divisions that round out its research toxicology services:
FAST Systems specializes in the application of immunological assays using ELISA and flow cytometry. It is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
MPI Analytical focuses on quantitative analysis in support of research programs at the Mattawan, Michigan site.
MPI-CardIon Laboratories is dedicated to in vitro electrophysiological techniques that measure the potential of compounds to interact with the hERG potassium channel and delay cardiac action potential repolarization in Purkinje fiber cells. This laboratory is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
With nearly 800 employees, MPI Research is fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) and operates in full compliance with all federal and state regulatory agencies, as well as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). The electronic Provantis™ data-capture system is used throughout the organization to collect study data, allowing maximum efficiency of clinical observations, generalized results and work scheduling.
MPI Research is known for its large, integrated, temperature-controlled animal rooms that house various species for safety evaluation testing. Special-purpose and custom-designed laboratories and resource rooms are available throughout the company. Customized and computerized security systems maintain the integrity of facility and staff.
