Exciting Career Opportunity HEALTH SCIENCE GRANTS MANAGER
The Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) office at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland is seeking qualified, career building, and energetic candidates to fill biomedical research administrative positions. The CDMRP, part of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, is responsible for administering over $4B in targeted congressional appropriations, for research related to breast, prostate, and ovarian cancer, neurofibromatosis, and other areas.
Positions are classified as Health Science Grants Managers, with responsibility for the negotiation and management of funded projects, to include reviewing and interpreting results for progress based upon the statement of work, budget, safety, efficacy, and intellectual property, as well as for potential/actual product development.
Position requires the application of knowledge and understanding of scientific principles to the management of CDMRP’s funding research portfolio. A Ph.D. or equivalent in a biomedical/behavioral scientific field is required. This is an entry level position in science administration in which the ideal candidate would possess a PhD and 2 to 3 years of postdoctoral training.
Work beyond a postdoctoral experience may be of benefit if applicable to science management but is not required. Excellent verbal and written skills are needed to communicate with members of the scientific, regulatory and contracting fields. The salary range is $70,000 – $85,000 depending on relevant experience.
