Post-doctoral position
A post-doctoral position is available to study biofilm formation by otitis media pathogens. The ideal candidate should have previous experience with electron microscopy preparation methods, microscope operation, confocal microscopy and molecular methods (e.g. in situ hybridization), coupled with a background in biofilm research.
Experience with electron microscopy tomography and related software would be advantageous. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn new methods are essential qualities to possess. Persons with skills in molecular biology and an interest in learning microscopy methods will also be considered. No re-location costs are available for this position and salary support is only available for 2 years.
Qualifications include a Ph.D. in microbiology or related subject as well as previous experience with electron microscopy and/or molecular methods applied to the study of bacterial biofilms.
