This part-time temporary position will be primarily involved in transgene expression analysis of transgenic maize plant. Responsibilities consist primarily in sample receiving, recording, DNA/RNA extraction, primer design, QRTPCR, data analysis/reporting, etc. Additional tasks include routine lab safety maintenances. Educational Qualifications Desired: Bachelor s Degree in Biology or related field; associate s degree with equivalent work experience will also be considered. Competencies and Experience Desired: Candidates must have basic understanding of biology and analytical techniques. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong detail orientation and high organization skills. Excellent communication and better than average computer skills are necessary; an interest/open mind towards robotic equipment and automation is desired. Preference will be given to candidates with lab experience. A time commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week is expected.
