To strengthen the Department of Tobacco Technologies, which is part of the PMI Research & Development Centre in Neuch?l, Switzerland, we are looking for an:
Associate Scientist, Compound Screening
THE POSITION
Main responsibilities:
?Develop and validate cell-based assays assessing various human physiological functions ?Conduct biochemical and cellular assays to characterize the biological activity of compounds isolated and characterized by our chemists ?Develop new mammalian cell lines and maintain our collection of mammalian cell lines in culture ?Record and process experimental results according to Good Laboratory Practices ?Organize and maintain laboratory infrastructure ?Interact with suppliers for purchase of laboratory reagents and maintenance of pieces of equipment
THE PERSON
?Academic Degree in Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or related qualification ?One to three years of academic or industrial experience and a track record of research and development activities in laboratories, conducting work in mammalian cell biology, pharmacology or related topics ?You are experienced with mammalian cell culture techniques, you are familiar with standard techniques in biochemistry and cell biology (Western blot, ELISA, reporter gene assay, migration assay, FACS, microscopy, etc.), you are at ease with new techniques and you are willing to participate in the development of more advanced ones ?You think in an analytical way, you are rigorous, you are creative, your aspiration is to further develop skills in experimental biology and you have a strong interest for R&D activities in pharmacology and medicine ?Fluency in English is a must and knowledge of French would be an asset
